a whole lotta rain



ok so my night last night was pretty eventfull and not in a good way

Tara came over after work which btw was the longest shift of my life
Kass was having a goodbye party that turned into a concert that was posted on the internet, so speculated TONS of people to show. and of course, because it was outside on some farm, it started to pour with rain. and i'm talking pour, the heavens opened up and and ocean fell down. Tara and I were driving in it and by the time we got there it had kind of let up. So we found Kass and she had locked 2 PAIRS OF KEYS in the car!! where all the stuff for the show was. so Tara called CAA and they were taking too long so i called my Telus Roadside Assistance (came with the phone) and they were so dumb with the directions i gave them even though they were such easy ones. anyways, by the time the guy came to open the car, someone had already opened it!! but it wasn't a total bust because another guy locked his keys in his car and the mechanic guy opened that one instead.

so after that, we listened to a couple songs and then went to Blockbuster to get some movies. we got The Girl Next Door and Elephant.

I'd seen the girl next door before and i like that one
but let me give you my review of Elephant: 81 minutes of my life i will never get back. it was terrible -> it took FOREVER for ANYTHING to happen and then when it ended it just ended. and why was it even called Elephant?!?!?! Tara told me never to take a film studies course cause i need everything explained. haha. still doesn't change the fact that the movie consisted of watching people walk through the halls of their highschool. just walking. yup. just plain walking. and the shots of walking were about 5 minutes each.

went to bed at 4:30am, woke up at 10:15am

and today, beautiful rain cancelled my swimming lessons so if you'll excuse me, i have a date with being unconscious that i really can't miss!

well, it got me thinking...



i was talking with someone yesterday and he told me something that stuck
he said:
it's not about fear, or being brave... it's a choice you make, a choice to live.

i really like that. i might jack it for a Survivor Network campaign.

he also said that he could not know himself until he knew the world
i wonder if he'll ever find himself

the search for the missing bottle opener



ok so of course the first time i ever want to drink at my house, i can't find our damn bottle opener. Sawa and i spent like 20 minutes looking for it and had to call my neighbour to borrow one. i'm such a loser.

i even called Brad and Hendrix, who should be experts on the drink and how to open the bottle without an opener, but they weren't home
i was in an alchaholic emergency and they weren't there!

the search made it taste so much better
bottle number 7 in my whole life

somebody make some noise...



well it's weird. coming from camp and the aftermath where i was always with people (usually from camp) i guess i am really used to lots of noise. now that the house is empty, it seems so quiet. i want to turn on stereos just to drown out the silence.

odd.
i'm sure i'll get used to it, it's just different.

left to my own devices



my family left today for Nova Scotia. They're driving there -> i wouldn't last a day!

went grocery shopping, only for the essentials
1 jar of big dill pickles
1 jar of olives
1 chocolate cheesecake
4 chudley individual apple pies
1 box of toaster strudels: strawberry
1 pkg of oatmeal chocolate chunk cookie mix
1 pkg of strawberries
2 bags of 3pk 1% milk
1 bag of Smartfood
and lots of individual meal things!

we'll see how things go...

desperate times call for desperate measures



On Saturday August 21st i went to Tara's brother's wedding and it was really beautiful and a lot of fun.

But the more eventful news of the day was: i regretfully say that having been clean from McDonalds since September 2003, i had no other choice but to break my avoidance. Apparently, people in Balls Falls/Jordan/St. Catherine's Ontario don't have any other place to eat but McDonalds, for there were two in the same plaza and NOTHING ELSE. Ron and i were literally starving, stomachs turning inwards, so we had to do it.

i felt so sick afterwards. haha.
oh and Ron almost died from the chicken cause they didn't say they stuffed it with onions
way to go people.

On Friday August 20th, Theresa, John and I headed down to the Molson Amphetheatre at Ontario Place to go and see Sarah McLachlan. All i have to say is...AMAZING!! the concert was sooo good and we were sitting second row on the side. They were filming the concert for a DVD and i really hope they we're in it cause the guy was fliming us for at least 2 songs! yay.

stats for the evening:
number of pictures John took with his digital camera: about 80
number of shirts Liz bought: 1 (it's black and i love it)
number of times Liz almost got killed by a car: 1
number of times Theresa yelled at the cop: about 3
number of times the big black car beside us in the parking lot called Theresa a bitch: 1
number of times Theresa spit on his car: 2

all in all it was a great night!
